Asthma

Asthma is a chronic disease that causes the inflammation of the bronchial tubules in the lungs. This results in the tightening of the muscles around the airways and an exacerbation of symptoms.

There are various forms of asthma, mainly based on triggers of the disease. Asthma can be caused by allergies, exercise, inhalation of harmful substances, and genetics.

Symptoms include:

  • Wheezing
  • Scratchy or whistling sound when breathing
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest tightness or pain
  • Chronic coughing
  • Trouble sleeping due to coughing or wheezing
